I've included a process video for you below, along with some detailed pictures and links to all of the products I used.
I used the same technique to create both of these cards. I started out with the Christmas Ornament Shadow Dies and the Angel Die by Gina Marie Designs. Both of these dies have an outline pattern that works great for this method of coloring.
After cutting out the dies from my cardstock I applied a piece of vellum behind each. I then used alcohol markers to color the back side of the vellum, using the outline of the die as a guide.
I used Spectrum Noir markers but any kind of alcohol ink markers would work, including Sharpie markers and Copic markers. As you can see the back side doesn't look very nice, but when you turn it over you get a beautiful soft effect that is nicely defined by the outline of the die.
I love these Christmas Ornament Dies because they cut the interior details, but they also include two separate dies that cut the outer perimeter, or the shadow of each ornament. I colored these the same way I did the other card, by using alcohol ink markers to color the back of the vellum.
I used my Stampoholic Nano to stamp my sentiments. I used the Lawn Fawn Merry Messages Stamp set, along with the Joy To The World set by Honey Bee Stamps. Both are fabulous sets FULL of great holiday sentiments.
I kept the cards fairly simple, because I really wanted the focus to be on the beautifully detailed dies. This was such an easy technique - it took no time at all. I've included links to all of the products I used below. Thank you so much for stopping by!
